With the growing buzz around the metaverse fueled by all industry sectors across the world, the Korea Herald and the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) in Korea are co-hosting a forum on Monday to discuss what the hyper virtual world -interactive reserve for the future.

The two-hour forum, held from 1 p.m. at the Four Seasons Seoul, invited a number of business leaders and experts, who are driving the rise of the metaverse, to share their insights. on the recent frenzy and how it will shape the next digital generation. time.

Steve Park, director of public policy for Meta, Facebook’s parent company, in Korea and Japan, will open the session with a keynote on the company’s metaverse technology and its vision for business expansion in Korea.

Lee Mi-yeon, Head of Metaverse Partnership Team at SK Telecom, will explain how South Korea’s largest telecom operator by number of subscribers aims to go global with its popular metaverse platform, called ifland .

Mooni Kim, Foreign Lawyer at Kim & Chang, will talk about the regulatory hurdles facing the burgeoning metaverse industry.

Patrick Yoon, Korean Managing Director of Crypto.com, will deliver a keynote on global trends in digital payment methods and non-fungible tokens.

Presentations will be followed by a panel discussion on the implications and opportunities of the metaverse for technology, fintech and other industries. The discussion will be moderated by Dr. Eric Kim, Assistant Professor at Hanyang University and Founder and CEO of Datacrunch Global.

Korea Herald CEO Choi Jin-young and AmCham Korea Chairman and CEO James Kim will deliver opening remarks. Science Minister Lim Hye-sook and Representative Kim Yeung-shik, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly’s Science, ICT, Broadcasting and Communications Committee, will also deliver congratulatory speeches at the event.
