The first Forum apartments launched on the market
£107million from Gloucester The Forum’s digital campus the development has taken a step forward, with the release of the first 19 apartments on the market.
A collection of one, two and three bedroom apartments, Whitefriars is the residential offering of The Forum development in Gloucester, which is presented by Gloucester City Council in partnership with developer Reef Group.
A total of 43 apartments in Whitefriars will be delivered over the next 24 months.
Developers hope the site will become the city’s most exciting residential address, said to be designed to the highest design and energy performance standards, with a roof garden for residents overlooking Gloucester Cathedral .
As well as being spacious homes designed by an architect and finished to luxury specifications, the apartments have a full range of amenities on their doorstep including a gym, shops and cafes.
Potentially, residents could also work in the Grade A office space that the wider Forum development will provide, while Gloucester’s main public transport links, bus and rail stations, are both within walking distance.
Esther Croft, Director of Development at Reefsaid: “Whitefriars offers all the benefits of town center living in the comfort of beautifully designed homes that make full use of their stunning location, including expansive views of the town and surrounding countryside.
“As an integral part of the Forum, these homes provide a truly sustainable living option with most of a person’s basic needs met within walking distance, helping to reduce residents’ impact on the environment.
“The apartments are designed to high energy performance standards, which is becoming an increasingly important consideration as energy prices continue to rise. This is a truly exciting development, built to superb quality by local company EG Carter & Co Ltd., which we are delighted to launch.”
Councilor Richard Cook, Leader of Gloucester City Councilsaid: “The Forum is poised to be one of the UK’s first truly integrated digital communities, with the space and infrastructure to create a seamless link between life and work in the centre- Whitefriars is essential in creating a sense of place and encouraging a sense of community in the local area.
Whitefriars’ interior design specs include sleek, handleless kitchens with Neff & Bosch appliances as well as luxurious, tiled bathrooms with walk-in showers and Amtico floors. Each apartment has two secure bicycle parking spaces.
The apartments vary in size from 39 m² (419 square feet) for a studio to 98 m² (1,054 square feet) for a three-bedroom apartment.
As well as being part of the vibrant new area of The Forum, Whitefriars Apartments are located next to the city’s new outdoor event space, Kings Square with its elegant fountains and artistic lighting.
Iain Powis, New Homes Team Leader at Cheltenham in Savillssaid: “Whitefriars is not only incredibly well located in the heart of the town, but its homes will also offer flexible and well-proportioned accommodation, with contemporary interiors and high quality finishes.
“As part of the Forum, the program brings something genuinely new and exciting to Gloucester and we expect it to generate considerable interest from professionals and investors alike.”
Katy Reynolds, Sales Manager within the Core New Homes/Residential Development Team at Knight Frankadded: “As well as being at the heart of the town’s newest and most exciting location, residents of Whitefriars can easily access the beautiful surrounding Gloucester countryside, including the Cotswolds, while the forest Dean’s is nearby.
