Soludo, a major asset for the economic progress of the region: Forum of Southern Governors

Chairman of the Southern Governors Forum and Governor of Ondo, Rotimi Akeredolu, congratulated the new Governor Charles Soludo of Anambra.

In a statement by his chief press secretary, Richard Olatunde, on Saturday in Akure, Mr Akeredolu also praised Anambra voters for the peaceful transition.

He instructed Soludo to prepare for “the task at hand”, noting that the security and economic challenges in the southern part of the country and in Nigeria as a whole required joint efforts and unwavering commitment.

“We rejoice with our brother, Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo and welcome him to the Southern Governors Forum.

“We are confident in his track record and ability to provide the right leadership to the people of Anambra State.

“We look forward to his viable and rich contributions to the development of Southern Nigeria, as his vast experience spanning economics and human capital management is a major asset to behold,” Mr Akeredolu said.

He tasked Mr. Soludo to deploy his wealth of experience for the benefit of the people of Anambra and Nigeria at large.

“We are particularly enthralled by Governor Soludo’s palpable passion for local economic growth through effective resource mobilization for development.

“For us at the SGF, a fresh and ingenious addition has been moored to maintain our ideals and our common course.

“We are confident that because of his background, Professor Soludo will dedicate time and resources to vindicating the people’s trust in the state that has freely given him the mandate to lead it at this critical time.

“For us at the Southern Governors Forum, we see Professor Soludo as a great asset that will further advance the agenda of our forum, especially with regard to the economic well-being of our dear people.

“As an accomplished economist, we look forward to leveraging his vast experience to find a way out of the persistent socio-economic challenges that have invaded the national space,” he said.
