Schneider Electric completes acquisition of Australian IoT company

French multinational Schneider Electric has announced the completion of the acquisition of Aurtra, a University of Queensland spin-out specializing in energy asset management solutions.

The acquisition was announced last yearwith Aurtra’s HealthSense – a multi-function sensor solution – now integrated with Portfolio of service offerings from Schneider Electric.

Aurtra was founded in 2016, after a decade of industrial/academic research. The company provides sensors and software to visualize and optimize the use of assets, maintenance and replacement of transformersand its first customers were electrical distribution utilities.

“Using this technology, we help our customers avoid catastrophic and costly transformer failures, optimize their operating expenses on individual or transformer fleets, and ultimately extend transformer life,” said Monday.
