Remove weekend sidewalks, asks a forum | Mysore News
Mysuru: Officials from the Federation of Mysuru Organizations and Associations (FOAM) urged the state government and district administration to lift the weekend curfew as it affects business and livelihoods thousands of families.
Speaking to reporters, federation president BS Prashanth said the restrictions were not helping other states contain the spread of the infection.
“Each department issues separate orders. We don’t know which one to follow. Already, due to the lockdowns of the first and second waves, thousands of families are facing a financial crisis. If another lockdown is imposed, it will affect them more, ”he said.
“The government is confusing so many orders at once. We don’t know which one is correct, ”Prashanth said.
“Due to the fear of lockdown and the weekend curfew, we can see traffic jams in many places. Even the experts have made it clear that none of these measures are helpful in containing the spread of infection. We have to learn to live with this virus for a few more years, ”he said.
“A 50% occupancy order is not practical. The virus is not serious. The rules are broken every day by politicians. These unrealistic orders are seriously affecting business, ”said Prashanth. “People attend gatherings in large numbers, but others are not allowed to have lunch in a hotel. What is the logic behind these orders ”, asked the vice-president of the federation Narayana Gowda. TNN
