Parker to Lead Keynote Session at NCAA Inclusion Forum
Candace Parker, a University of Tennessee and LVFL alum, will lead one of the main sessions at the 2022 NCAA Inclusion Forum, which will be held virtually June 15-16.
The NCAA Inclusion Forum annually brings together leaders in higher education and intercollegiate athletics and student-athletes who are passionate about improving the educational and professional environment for student-athletes, coaches, administrators and staff.
This year’s theme is “Now’s the Time: Making Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging a Reality. The Forum kicks off on June 15 with a Title IX 50th anniversary celebration featuring sports icon and equality champion Billie Jean King. In addition, unique programming will be offered to those designated for Diversity and Inclusion in Athletics.
Parker, WNBA star, entrepreneur and NBA broadcast analyst, will host a keynote session titled “Kicking Glass, Breaking Barriers & Inspiring Social Change” on June 16. Other speakers include Haben Girma, Harvard Law School’s first deafblind graduate and disability rights advocate, and a spoken word performance by Yorri Berry, poet and children’s rights advocate. Educational sessions on each of the five key areas of the office of inclusion, namely disability, international, LGBTQ, race/ethnicity and gender equity, will also be featured.
