Middle Belt Youth Forum urges locals to stand up for themselves

The Middle Belt Youth Forum (MBYF) has called on locals to stand up and defend themselves against these vampires called killer shepherds.

The call which is contained in a statement signed by its national leader, Comrade Aluh Moses Odeh and eight others, called on the federal government to completely halt the continued acquisition of ancestral lands under the guise of RUGA, a colony of livestock and others.

“We have looked at the political situation and continued insecurity plaguing the Middle Belt region and other parts of the country with heavy hearts of lost hope that the once united great nation like Nigeria has been brought to its knees. “

The group lamented that insecurity has rendered Nigerians and people in the Middle Belt who escaped death to become homeless, jobless with an increasing number of people fleeing their ancestral homes and taking refuge in people camps. internally displaced persons (IDPs).

The group further regretted that, “as a result, our people can no longer go to their farms for food production”, pointing out that the development has resulted in a high cost of food.

“We congratulate the All Progressive Congress (APC) on taking power in the South and call on the People Democratic Party (PDP) and other political parties to distribute power fairly to the South in 2023.

“We call on all political parties in the middle belt states of Adamawa, Benue, Kogi, Kwara, Nasarawa, Niger, Plateau, Taraba, to distribute power equally to districts or areas that have not tasted power in a spirit of fairness and justice.”

While pledging to support and vote only for mid-belt pro aspirants in the upcoming elections, the group also enjoined all who emerge as governors in their respective states in the mid-belt region to ensure the lift off of the Middle Belt Governors Forum (MBGF) after their inauguration on May 29, 2023 God willing.

“We also want to appeal to all of our political leaders in the Middle Belt region that the position of Middle Belt Youth led by All Middle Belt Youth Forum AMBYF that the region will produce the Vice President of Nigeria in 2023 is sacrosanct and that they have to work hard to actualize it, we base this demand on our electoral value or our voting strength.

“We call on our young people, women and men in the middle belt to take advantage of the last phase of the permanent voter registration exercise to obtain their permanent voter cards, because it is the only weapon we have to do substantiate our claim,” the statement read. part.
