SIOUX FALLS – The University of South Dakota Knudson School of Law, in partnership with Plains Commerce Bank, will host the “Five O’Clock Forum: The Core of Cryptocurrency” at the Hilton Garden Inn Sioux Falls Downtown on February 3 in from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Law School Dean Neil Fulton will host the Q&A with USD alumnus Kyle Pickner ’11, BBA, Trustee Director of Plains Commerce Bank. They will discuss several aspects of cryptocurrency, including the role of digital assets in traditional financial institutions, regulations surrounding digital assets, digital asset security and blockchain technology, and the crypto job market.
“Crypto presents many complicated issues for lawyers, bankers, business people and investors,” Fulton said. “This program will explore the banking and regulatory aspects of cryptocurrency.”
Those interested in learning more about cryptocurrency and how digital currency affects financial institutions are encouraged to attend.
“Anyone considering investing in cryptocurrency, working with banks or in regulatory settings will have the opportunity to hear the latest developments and ask questions,” Fulton said. “The event will also provide a networking opportunity for anyone engaged in law and business in South Dakota.”
This event is open to the public and free. Aperitifs and drinks will be offered.
