Helm takes the helm of the Wholesale Industry Leaders Forum

Former GSMA Events Director Annabel Helm is the new head of the Global Leaders’ Forum (GLF), the wholesale industry organization run by Capacity Media.

She took office this week, after more than seven years as the Events Director for the GSMA’s Mobile 360 ​​Lecture Series.

Helm (pictured) replaces Jussi Makela, who led GLF until he decided to move on at the end of 2021.

“What really excites me is the potential to start leading and making changes in the industry,” she said. Capacity. “He has made tremendous progress since 2017.”

The GLF was created from the leadership of the wholesale industry which 15 years ago worked with Capacity to set up International Telecommunications Week (ITW), the annual meeting of global wholesalers. This year’s ITW will take place May 9-12 at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center in National Harbor, Maryland, near Washington DC.

Helm has experience with ITW as, prior to joining GSMA, she worked at Capacity Media as a conference producer and conference development manager, focusing on Metro Connect, Capacity North America and other events. of the wallet.

She brought this experience to the GSMA, helping to develop its range of regional events under the Mobile 360 ​​brand, particularly in Africa, Asia and Latin America.

Helm will work with the GLF Board of Directors, chaired by Laurinda Pang of Lumen, although Pang is stepping down from her role as GLF in the near future. “I can’t wait to speak with Marc [Halbfinger, of PCCW Global, the previous chair] and Laurinda and move the GLF forward into the future, ”said Helm. “I look forward to building and promoting the work of GLF. “

Under Halbfinger, the GLF adopted the slogan “Keeling the World Connected” as the industry faced the challenges of the pandemic.

She will meet them in person at Capacity Middle East, which is scheduled to take place in person – pandemic rules permitting – in Dubai from March 28-31.
