A final thought on today, and our dying season over the last few games 15:26 – April 16 with 481 views dubtractor
We must not forget that McKenna is a rookie manager, every game and scenario is new for him where he has to make decisions to turn things around. Sometimes he will succeed and other times, like today or at Cambridge, he will not.

He needs time to learn from these situations, to do things differently, to sometimes be a little more enthusiastic if necessary. It’s obviously frustrating to end another season far from playoff pace, but I’m sure we’ve all seen enough of McKenna to be positive for next season?

For my part, I am extremely excited for next season, I can’t wait to see how we go.

We can’t afford to settle for a rookie manager. This retirement ground is not going to take Ligue 1 football very long.

Yes he is young. Yes, he must learn. But he must learn quickly. Right now, he shows no signs of learning other than to settle down as he wants and see it.

Our results have deteriorated. The goal score got worse. Our set pieces are always sht. So what does he learn and change because it doesn’t show.

I always love the football he tries to get us to play and when we do it’s fantastic. But he has a lot to learn quickly otherwise it’s gonna be a short partnership imo.

Absolutely right Dubbers. Next year is going to be great.

The big concern for me is are there any signs that McKenna is learning from his mistakes?

I couldn’t agree more Dubster…we have to be in this for the long haul with McKenna, supporting him and tolerating a few bumps along the way.

His post-game was perfect today. He’s aware of the lack of combat and physicality, he’s aware of the fact that we don’t turn chances or good attacking positions into goals.

This league is bl@@dy hard to get out of, and next season will be even worse.

I’m not sure about the first two, but I think the play-offs are very realistic.

McKenna will continue to learn. And I think he knows what needs to be fixed in the team. Which I think may be 4 real quality signatures. We can’t be so dependent on Morsy and Burns to move the team forward for example.

Being aware is one thing, doing something about it is another and so far we’ve only had occasional striker changes or the continued use of the same attacking baron behind them.

We have 3 sides at itfc. It can’t hurt to try something different…

Lambert was aware of our failings.
Cook shared the fans’ frustration and was aware of our problems.

Let’s see how he fares with this realization.

Because the last three experienced did a great job.

Honestly, at least Fishers was funny when he was trying to be quite the opposite, Chris.

Mullet Gtsb Blue Badger Bloots N2 Blue ITFC Joe …and the rest. Don’t you understand that these forums have massive influence these days? You killed him. We can move on to bigger and better things, who knows? Your groans and moans here are picked up and have a massive ripple effect. Fking buttons the lot of you. For weeks you stomped like little girls and it picked up when all you had to do was roll a little. Pathetic. Cook always comes well, he always has, talk to any fan of Pompey, Wigan or Chesterfield. I’m at Pompey tonight and they’re all shaking their heads. Dkheads the lot of you. Glad to be banned because of this. You are ridiculous. The ramifications are massive and can be assuaged with money, but fk me; learn to kick a ball and know what you’re talking about before you get mad. Huge shame and huge shame on you. The cook works hard. What else are you doing but lazily pointing fingers and taking advantage of nonsensical statistics. Nothing but contempt for you and your baseless ideas about football when you’ve never even kicked a ball.

This is exactly point BB. Being aware sounds good to fans. But just being aware won’t earn you a promotion.

I think the most important thing to remember is that our season hasn’t been dead for a few games. He died in the first 20 or so. McK has gone to great lengths to catch up, but it’s a leap too far. In terms of results, he’s done better than any manager lately for us, so there’s something to be positive about despite today.
