EAM Jaishankar starts 3-day visit to France to attend EU Forum on Indo-Pacific Relations

Foreign Minister (EAM) S Jaishankar arrived in France on Sunday February 20 for his three-day visit. During his visit to Paris, Jaishankar was expected to hold a bilateral meeting with his French counterpart Jean-Yves Le Drian on February 20, according to the press release from the Foreign Ministry. He will also attend the EU Ministerial Forum for Indo-Pacific Cooperation on February 22.
EAM Jaishankar arrives in France
The EU Ministerial Forum for Cooperation in the Indo-Pacific is an initiative of the French Presidency of the European Council. On the sidelines of the EU Ministerial Forum, EAM Jaishankar will also hold bilateral meetings with its counterparts from the European Union and other Indo-Pacific countries, according to the press release from the Ministry of External Affairs.
Jaishankar is also due to deliver a speech at the French Institute of International Relations (IFRI). The Indian Embassy in France has shared a photo of EAM Jaishankar with the officials in France. The Indian Embassy in France tweeted: “EAM @DrSJaishankar begins his 3-day visit to France, a key strategic partner; he will attend the EU Ministerial Forum for Indo-Pacific Cooperation, hold bilateral meetings with @JY_LeDrian & @florence_parly, interact with think tanks and chair 🇮🇳 Heads of Missions at the EU conference.”
Trip of Dr S Jaishankar of EAM to Germany
Ahead of his trip to France, EAM Jaishankar traveled to Germany to attend the Munich security conference on Friday. During his visit to Germany, Jaishankar met his Irish counterpart Simon Coveney and informed that they were working closely with the UNSC. He also reviewed global developments during a meeting with German Chancellor’s foreign and security policy adviser Jens Ploetner. Jaishankar also met with his Mongolian counterpart Battsetseg Batmunkh, Romanian Foreign Minister Bogdan Aurescu.
EAM meets the Indian community in Germany
On Sunday morning, Dr S Jaishankar in Germany met with the Indian community and expressed his joy. He described people’s passion for India as “heartwarming”.
Jaishankar said he “shared the confident national mood with them” and highlighted the strong relationship India shares with Germany. He also met the German Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development, Svenja Schulze. Sharing details of his meeting with Schulze, Jaishankar tweeted, “We discussed our respective development partnership prospects. We share a commitment to promote green growth and clean technologies.”
