Bali will host the World Water Forum in 2024

Bali has been chosen as the host for the 10th World Water Forum (WWF) in 2024.

The decision to select Bali as the 2024 site was taken during the 9th Board of Governors of the World Water Council held in Dakar, Senegal, on March 19, 2022.

Advertised on the I websiteMinistry of Foreign Affairs of Indonesia (Deplu) on March 20, 2022, Bali prevailed over Rome, Italy in the final selection process as host of the 10th World Water Forum in a vote requiring a simple majority or a minimum of 19 votes among the 36 voting selectors. Bali received 30 votes to win the competition.

As reported by Beritabali.com, the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs says Bali’s selection for the 10th World Water Forum reflects the international community’s confidence in Indonesia’s commitment and leadership in water resources management.

Indonesia is the first Southeast Asian country chosen to host the WWF. Hosting this prestigious global event is seen as strengthening Indonesia’s role in the sustainable management of water resources.

The World Water Forum (WWF) is the main world summit on sustainable accessibility to drinking water. A Initiative of the World Water Council (WWC), WWF takes place once every three years. The first one WWF took place in 1997.

The winning bid for the 10th WWF was a joint venture between the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR), the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy and the Provincial Government of Bali.
