Autonomy, the electric vehicle subscription company that offers the cheapest, fastest and easiest way to get a Tesla Model 3, and soon other models and brands, is now available for Bakersfield residents and surrounding communities.

Electric vehicles were out of reach for many consumers, but with a subscription , this is no longer the case.
A payment dial allows customers to customize their Model 3. Subscriptions range from $490 per month with an initial start-up fee of $4,900 to $1,000 per month with an initial start-up fee of $1,000. A refundable $500 security deposit and taxes are required upon subscription activation. Subscribers can start reserving their car through the Autonomy app with a $100 refundable deposit.

Gas prices continue to rise, but the cost of electricity remains incredibly low for consumers, by comparison. The average price of a gallon of gasoline in Bakersfield is just over $6.25, costing the average consumer $75 to fill their gas tank. Using a Tesla Supercharger, consumers pay about 0.25 cents per kWh, totaling less than $25 for a full charge. Access to recharging is also simple. Bakersfield currently has 108 charging stations – including two Superchargers along Interstate 5 in Bakersfield – with a new Tesla Supercharger slated to open in downtown Bakersfield in the fall of 2022.

In addition to the cost advantage, Autonomy drivers have the option of monthly subscription after a minimum hold period of three months and with 28 days notice. The platform is a viable market option for those unwilling or unable to afford the long-term commitment of buying or leasing an electric car.
