Session details:

Please note this is a 90 minute session – Wednesday, September 21, 2022 3:00-4:30 PM CT

Two-part session:

PART 1: Adding spatial analysis data to Asset Management

Waipa Network used LiDAR and a high-resolution photo survey program to power its new GIS and network model, which underpinned the development of its ADMS roadmap. Waipa created dashboards using PowerBI that were designed to report defect counts, clearance issues, and pole data across the network and by charger to focus and understand the scale of network problems. Graphs of AHI network condition versus equipment age profiles provide evidence for condition-based replacement programs and future expense profiling rather than age-based replacement. Subsequent results of the AHI inspection will allow time trends in network health to be established, which will further assist in predicting future renewal expenditures.

SPEAKER: Peter Armstrong Representative, Waipa Networks

PART 2: Using spatial analysis to optimize your O&M program Utilities spend billions of dollars a year on vegetation management. Despite the huge investment of member dollars in their O&M programs, many still rely on anecdotal data from work teams and paper processes to put this significant investment to work. However, today’s innovative teams are maximizing their budget by turning to spatial analytics for an objective overview of their networks, inviting data into the conversation, and prioritizing impactful work at home. using satellite intelligence. In this session, we will explain how teams can use spatial analysis to predict growth and climate hazards with risk-based prioritization. We’ll also explain how teams can use spatial analytics to get better deals from contractors, maximize cutting budgets, and prioritize VMs for specific business goals.
