14th Citizen Energy Forum | European Commission

The 14th Citizens’ Energy Forum will take place in Dublin, Ireland. Citizen interest groups, NGOs, businesses and policy makers (ministries and regulators) will provide input on energy consumption issues in the context of the current energy crisis. Energy is an essential commodity and its security has been strongly impacted by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, which has contributed to an unprecedented rise in energy prices which is hitting the European population.

Compared to previous editions, this forum will focus on the citizen, taking stock of the actions of individuals and local actors to help citizens prepare for the difficult winter ahead and considering what may still be done once winter begins. The forum will focus on middle and low income consumers and the solutions they can access.

Alongside the forum, two half-day events aimed at a specialist audience at European and local level will take place: a round table on regulation, co-organized with energy regulators, and a citizen workshop in Ireland, co-organized with DG JUST.

The forum will be webcast live with the ability for the public to engage via Sli.do, where active participation will be facilitated through polls, citizen testimonials, inspiring examples of consumer action and discussions. facilitated in discussion groups.
